Busy Saturday

So just quick post today. I am so excited that I get to one of our local scrapbooking stores called Memory Lane today to make the cutest haunted house (pan down on the page to find it). I hope it's fun!

I finished two cards last night for CPS #83 card sketch. I haven't done a card with them for a while so it was nice to get back into the swing of things. I finally got to use my Basic Grey Euphoria paper. Yes, I'm a little behind. I can't wait for the Granola line to come out. I've been holding out for it.

The other card I made was based on card sketch #23 on Page Plans. I love using my MFT stamps when I get a chance and I used the Basic Grey Euphoria paper with this card too. I also used my pastels to color the image which is something I haven't used a lot lately. So that was a nice for a change. I used some green flocking and Stickles on the cake too.

Then I wanted to post some of the pencil boxes I made for a friend in Texas. She calls me her "card pimp" which is kind of funny. But she keeps me busy and I love making her stuff. I also made some little notecards to go with the pencil boxes.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! Tonight I have a date with my hubby. I'm so excited!!

Fall is sort of in the air

Fall really doesn't show up around here until next month sometime. It has still been in the mid-80's here. I have seen a few leaves change colors so I am ready for it to be here. My latest scrapbook layout made me think of fall as well. We all went to the Fall Festival in the neighboring town of Corrales last year around this time and I saw that it was coming up next weekend. Is still hadn't scraped the pictures I took last year so I thought I better get to it. I decided that this week's layout sketch from Page Plans would be perfect for my layout. I wanted to have a big pumpkin on it and didn't really have one so I paper pieced one together. I think it turned out pretty cute an then I added a bunch of pretty leaves, buttons, wire, and bling to jazz it up a bit.

I can't wait to take picture this year at the Corrales Fall Festival. Have a great rest of the week!

Caardvarks latest challenge

I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to do this challenge, Working for a living at Caardvarks. It is supposed to elements you find around the office or have an office type theme to it. So I thought I don't really have any office type things around here that would be cute. Then I got these really cute chocolate colored mini file folders from my most recent Paper Source order. I love that place! The thing is I don't remember ordering them. But there they were and I thought how perfect for a card and for this challenge. I also had a sheet of 12 x 12 cork board that was "office-y" and then found a paper clip, some rubbe bands, and a thumb tack, and thus a card was born. So another great challenge at Caardvarks!!

And now I'm off to bed. I have been up since 6am (I wish I could sleep in sometimes). Then we all went to the State Fair which was lots of fun. The kids had a foot long corn dog which they shared with me and daddy. And that was the ony thing I ate this year. Yay for me!! Then tonight I realized that I am sunburnt. Why do I remember to put sunscreen on the kids but never on myself. I guess I feel I can dodge the sun's rays beating down on me. My arms feel like they are one fire. Of well! So a long day and now hopefully a good night sleep tonight.

The kids enjoying the pony ride. Garrett's horse was Trigger and Caden's horse was named Bear.

A little kiddie ride. Garrett cried the whole time on it. I'm not sure why?? He was very clingy, maybe he did like the crowds of people.

Have a great week!

Yay! The weekend is here!!

It has been a long week but it's Friday, YAAAAYY! I'v e have been busy this week and I made a really cute pencil box (to be posted later) and a bunch of layouts for the Nook University Challenge at My Scrapbook Nook. This is such a fun place to hang out. I'm fairly new there still but having fun just the same. So please check out my gallery there if you pop in for a visit. I have a whole 3 things in the gallery but I will try and post more things there soon. My gallery name is ~kristen~ so check out the site and sign up.

Another layout I made was for the Page Plans Sketch #21. I made the card one and this was a fun one too. I got to use my Bam Pop papers to make a funky fun and whimsical layout of my daughter and a bucket.

I hope everyone has a nice weekend. We are going to the New Mexico State Fair on Sunday. I am looking forward to it. I think the kids are really going to enjoy the rides there this year. And my son thinks he needs a foot long corn dog so we'll have to see about that.

Monday's here again

Well this weekend wasn't to exciting. I did get to go to a little stamp camp and make some cards with my BF, Heidi. When I got home, I walked through the door to find that my son had just thrown up. Further checking would determine he had a fever too. So he caught what Cady had on Wednesday. I guess a 24-hour stomach virus is going around. Now it's over and we can get on with our normal routine. Although, his foot is hurting him now and so we wil be going to doctor tomorrow.

I did finish up some notecards I was making for a friend this weekend. I only started them a month ago, geez! But one of them I made I used a sketch from a website I just found recently called Page Plans. They have weekly sketch that is posted for a card and scrapbook layout. They even have sketches for digital layouts too. So I gave a whirl and came up with this card. It's is one of the eight I made for this set. They are having a design team call which I think I am going to try out for as well. So we'll see how that goes.
I am just loving my Cuttlebug embossing folders and my Nestibilites too.

Well, I am off to make some pencil boxes. I will post them when I am finished making them.

Have a great week!!

Monday, Monday

So this weekend was fairly relaxing. It rained most of the day yesterday but I did manage to pull some weeds in the front yard before it started pouring.

I did work on a few cards and some layouts this weekend. The card I worked on was for the latest Caardvarks challenge "Music". I just paper pieced the guitar and added some wire and Stickles to it to give it a rocker look. Then I smeared black diamond Stickles all over the spiderweb background. I did take the pictures with the flash on, which I don't normally do. I just like the way it made the glitter sparkle. The spiderweb is the latest from the Cuttlebug A-2 embossing folders.

These are some of the layouts I made this weekend. The first is from your recent trip the White Sands. The kids were running around the sand dunes having a wonderful time. I just loved this picture and made it black and white. The sand seems so endless in it (It really is endless, White Sands is a huge place).

The other layout is one of my son in the snow last winter (actually Valentine's Day). I found these wooden letter puzzle pieces when I was cleaning the other day. I almost threw them away but decided they may come in handy. The "s", "o", and "w" were blue but the "n" was yellow. The yellow didn't really fit in the layout so I covered it with some paper and it was good to go. I also sanded the other letters for a neat "snowy" effect. Then I journaled on a big snowflake. I really don't like my handwriting. Oh well!
